1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy covers cookies and similar technologies on clipsubs.com and in the Clipsubs service, operated by SIA “Linearis” (Sabiedrība ar ierobežotu atbildību “Linearis”), a limited liability company registered in Latvia, registration number 41203019463, VAT No. LV41203019463, registered address Brīvības gatve 300-9, Rīga, LV-1006, Latvia.

2. What cookies and similar technologies do

Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website. A session cookie usually lasts for a browsing session; a persistent cookie remains until it expires or is deleted.

Local storage, pixels and similar technologies can also store or access information on your device. Their treatment depends on their purpose, not simply the technology’s name.

3. Categories and purposes

At present neither the website nor the app sets analytics or advertising cookies; only strictly necessary cookies and browser local storage are used. If optional categories are introduced, they will be off until you accept them.

Strictly necessary
Technologies essential to a service you request, such as authentication, security or recording your cookie choice. Only uses that meet the applicable exemption may operate without consent.

Preferences
Optional ways to remember choices and personalise your experience beyond what is necessary for a requested function.

Analytics
Optional measurement of visits and product use to understand what works and what needs improvement.

Marketing
Optional advertising measurement, audience creation or tracking across services.

These categories explain the different purposes a technology can serve; listing a category does not mean that every type is used in each visit or service function. Any optional categories offered to you are identified when we request your choice.

4. Your choices

Where optional technologies are offered, we ask for your consent before using them. Where a cookie choice is shown, Accept all allows the optional categories shown; Reject optional keeps only strictly necessary technologies; Manage preferences lets you choose individual optional categories. Optional categories are not preselected.

Closing a banner, scrolling or continuing to browse is not consent. You can refuse optional technologies and continue to use the core service. A particular optional function may remain unavailable where it depends on a technology you have declined.

5. Change or withdraw consent

Where a cookie settings control is shown, use it to review your choice, reject optional categories or withdraw consent. You can change your choice without contacting support.

Withdrawal applies to future activity and does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing based on consent. Choices may need to be set again on another browser or device, or after browser storage is cleared.

6. Third-party services

If you choose Google sign-in or make a payment through Stripe, information needed for that requested function is handled by the relevant provider. Their privacy and cookie notices explain their own use of device information. An optional integration does not give general permission for unrelated tracking.

Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where a restricted transfer is made on our behalf, applicable data-protection safeguards are required. See the Privacy Policy or contact us at support@clipsubs.com for information about recipients and safeguards relevant to your use of Clipsubs.

7. Information about individual technologies

The Clipsubs app primarily uses your browser’s local storage, not third-party advertising cookies, to keep you signed in and to remember editor preferences such as warning thresholds and navigation state. Supabase, our authentication provider, Google when you sign in with Google, and Stripe during checkout may set strictly necessary cookies to keep you securely signed in or to process a payment.

Cookie names, domains and expiry dates depend on the service function and provider involved. Your browser’s site-data or developer settings can show the cookies and local storage currently present on your device, including their domain and available expiry information. The presence of a cookie in your browser does not itself establish its purpose or legal basis.

For information about a cookie or similar technology encountered while using Clipsubs, email support@clipsubs.com. Include its name or identifier and the page or function where you encountered it. Do not include passwords, authentication tokens or the contents of a session cookie.

8. Browser controls and retention

Your browser can let you inspect, block or delete cookies and other site storage. Blocking necessary storage may affect sign-in or other requested functions. Clearing storage can also remove a saved consent choice.

A session cookie normally ends with the session, while a persistent cookie remains until its expiry or earlier deletion. Local storage can remain until cleared. Device expiry is separate from the retention of information already received by a provider. The Privacy Policy explains the criteria used for retaining personal data; deleting a cookie does not automatically delete those records.

9. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when relevant technologies, purposes or recipients change. The last-updated date at the top identifies the latest revision. Where a change requires new consent, we will ask for a new choice before relying on it; an earlier consent does not automatically authorise a new purpose.
